Cookie Shots
Dominique Ansel, the father of the Cronut, came up with another awesome creation. The famous chocolate chips cookie shots. The bad news is that you can only get them in NY. The good news is that Pinterest is full of recipes to make them! And that's what I did after going to Dominique's bakery and leaving without trying them because they only sell cookie shots from 3PM to 5PM. So, I tried making them and this was the result.
The first thing you need to get is a mold. I bought the silicone one and it was perfect. You can get it at Amazon. I'd suggest you buy two molds so that you can bake more than 8 cookie shots at the same time.
For the cookie dough you can either make it yourself or get a pre-made bag. I'm sure everyone has a chocolate chip cookie recipe so no need to share another one here.
Once the cookie dough is ready, you need to fill the mold. Since it's a silicone one you don't need to grease it but I never trust that theory so I sprayed a little bit of oil. Push the dough into the mold and cover all the spaces.
Don't fill it entirely, as once it's baked the dough will grow. But before baking, put the mold in the fridge for 10 minutes. And then bake for 17-19 min at 350°F. Remove from the oven. The base will probably be inflated so, before it cools down, flatten out with a spoon so that you have an even base. Let it cool completely. Remove the cookie shots carefully as they are really fragile.
The next step is very important. You need to cover the inside part of the shot with melted chocolate to create a wall so that they can hold the milk. So, with a spoon pour the melted chocolate inside the shot, one shot at a time.
Fill it up about half way and then turn it so that the chocolate goes right to the edge.
Put them in the fridge again and that's it!
